2-Day Workshop – Woven Waffles
Woven Waffles is a two-day workshop focusing on three-dimensional weave structures. Waffle, or honeycomb weaves have a raised, grid-like structure and are commonly used in products such as hand towels and bathrobes. In this workshop we will look at the pattern’s basic construction as well as the diverse qualities and characteristics that result from the use of different materials and colors.
On the first day, you will learn how to thread a loom and read a weaving draft - the technical notation of weaving patterns. Once you’ve set up your loom, you are ready to weave your first waffle sample. On the second day, we will go straight to the loom, sampling and playing around with different materials and color combinations. The looms will be set up to weave different waffle structures, and you will be free to try them out to become familiar with the different possibilities. At the end of the workshop, you will take home your own set of handwoven pattern samples (2 – 3 pieces).
For those of you who have taken our Sketching with Yarn or Weaving Basics course or with similar experience, this workshop is the perfect next step into the world of weaving. The necessary technical understanding will be gained through hands-on practice designed to improve your weaving skills in a fun and creative environment.

Our courses are designed for adults and children (13+).
By taking part in our classes, all participants must ensure they have private liability insurance.
Please consider carefully before signing up for one of our classes or purchasing a class for another person. As we are operating as a small business with limited capacity, each person makes an important contribution and a short notice in cancellation can make it difficult to fill your spot.
If you do need to cancel, please be aware of our policies: If the cancellation is 30 or more days before the start of the workshop, you have the option of rescheduling or receiving a full refund minus a 25€ processing fee. A course cancelled fewer than 30 days from the start of your workshop, cannot be refunded nor rescheduled. No refunds will be given on gift cards and weaving passes.
